Effective immediately, App Dev for All will no longer provide one-on-one support or answer questions in Telegram. Our Telegram channels will stay open as a one-way source for announcements, release notes, and project news, but we won’t be replying to messages.
Why we’re making this change
App Dev for All is a U.S.-based organization and must comply with U.S. sanctions and export control laws. Providing individual support services to users in certain jurisdictions can be restricted under these laws, and Telegram doesn’t let us reliably tell where someone is located. The laws and regulations that apply include but aren’t limited to:
- The International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), 50 U.S.C. §§ 1701–1707
- The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, 31 C.F.R. Chapter V (Parts 500–599). These include, among others, the Cuban Assets Control Regulations (31 C.F.R. Part 515), the Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulations (31 C.F.R. Part 560), the North Korea Sanctions Regulations (31 C.F.R. Part 510), and the Ukraine-/Russia-Related Sanctions Regulations (31 C.F.R. Part 589)
- The Export Administration Regulations (EAR), 15 C.F.R. Parts 730–774
This change in support policy is not related to an individual user or a group of users.
