Plugins and add-ons

To maintain a small footprint on mobile devices while empowering developers to build the IDE they need, Code on the Go supports optional plug-ins, templates, and other kinds of add-ons. 

About community-built plugins

  • Projects that display people’s names are third-party contributions. The App Dev for All team hasn’t performed a code review or audit on these files.
  • This software is provided “as-is.” We don’t offer any guarantees that it’s stable, secure, or compatible with your environment. 
  • If a plugin breaks your build or causes a headache, that’s between you and the contributor. We don’t provide support, maintenance, or liability coverage for community-made software.
  • Standard dev rules apply: Always check the source, test in a sandbox, and use your best judgment.

This plugin installs two Python project templates (Python Flask App and Python Starter), and installs Python if it is not already installed.

How to install a plugin

Watch a video of the steps

  • Tap Preferences
  • Tap Plugin Manager. The plugin manager page will be displayed.
  • Tap +. The Android file explorer is displayed
  • Locate and select the .cgp plugin file on your device. A dialog box asking permission to restart Code on the Go is displayed.
  • Tap Restart now.
  • After restarting, repeat steps 1 and 2 to launch the plugin manager. The plugin you installed will be displayed in the list.
