Code on the Go (CoGo™) was updated on October 20, 2026 to 26.43.
R2 is Coming Soon!
Next week, our release will officially be Code on the Go R2. The release will include all of the new features we’ve added since R1 last April.
See List of Experimental Features
App Dev for All provides a suite of experimental features. These features may be rough and may not include documentation. If you want to try experimental features, follow these steps.
- Visit the experimental features page and download the experiments flag.
- Restart CoGo. When experimental features are enabled, a dot is displayed on the home page after “Code on the Go.”
To see a list of experimental features enabled on your device, tap the dot on the home page.
Experimental features can only be enabled or disabled as a group; you can’t choose individual features to turn on and off. To disable experimental features, remove or rename the CodeOnTheGo.exp file in the Download folder. Then, restart CoGo.
More Plugin Support for AI Agents
Changes to the plugin API let AI agent plugins do more. Using the plugin API, AI agent plugins can now:
- Start Quick Build, check whether it’s available, read its status, cancel it, and get the result: reloaded, failed, or why it couldn’t run. See
IdeBuildServicein the plugin API. - Check whether an MCP server address is on the device, the local network, or the internet, so they can decide when an unencrypted connection is safe. See
ServerUrlin the plugin API.
Other Fixes and Improvements
- The core activity templates for default projects (e.g., Basic Activity, Tabbed Activity, etc.) are no longer visible in the Add-ons Manager.
- Fixed a crash that could close Code on the Go while it opened a very large Kotlin project on a phone with limited memory.
- Other fixes to resolve bugs including
DiagnosticCoroutineContextExceptionandNullPointerException.
Introducing Knowledge to Go (K2Go™)
App Dev for All is proud to announce of Knowledge to Go (K2Go™), a free and open-source Android application that transforms virtually any Android phone (including older 32-bit devices) into an offline content server capable of sharing educational, medical, and technical resources with anyone nearby over local Wi-Fi. No internet access, specialty hardware, or technical expertise is required.
K2Go can be cloned directly to another Android phone, empowering people to bring the K2Go content (including Code on the Go) back to their homes and communities on their existing devices. Learn more at appdevforall.org/knowledgetogo.
